Yes you can, however there are some specific steps that you must take in order to do this. First you must get approved for the Medicare Supplement plan before disenrolling from your Advantage plan. The best time to do this is toward the end of the year and then your new coverage would start January 1st of the New Year.
How do I change my Medicare Supplement to get a lower premium?
We research all the insurance companies that offer the plan you want to change to and if there’s a lower premium available then help you determine if a change is possible. Some states including Missouri allow you to change your Medigap plan without medical underwriting (health questions) on the anniversary of your current plan or your birthday month.

If you live in the state of Missouri the best time to change your Medigap coverage is on the anniversary (effective date) of your policy. You have 30 days before and after to make this change without any medical underwriting questions.
Can I change my Medigap plan at any time?
Yes, you can apply for Medicare Supplement insurance anytime throughout the year. However, you may have to answer medical history type questions to qualify for the plan you want.
